Area Repeater Coordination Council

MINUTES

Meeting of November 13, 2004

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Area Repeater Coordination Council ("ARCC") was held this date at the Holiday Inn, Fort Washington, PA.

President David Laustsen, W3LAW, chaired the meeting and the following were present:

Mr. Laustsen; Vice President – Administration, Kevin Woolard, KW3P; Vice President – Coordination, William Ferguson, WA3BXW; EPA-SE Regional Manager Richard Stewart, K3ITH; Robert Freer, W3YLT; Web Page Manager Peter J. Rossi, WA3NNA; Coordinator John Sichert, KA3LAO; Emeritus Board Member Gene Pressler, W3ZXV; and guest Karen Woolard.

The meeting began with Mr. Laustsen noting that Secretary Roger Purdy, W2NWL, had resigned his position and that a replacement was necessary. Mr. Purdy had been serving both as SNJ-NJ Regional Representative as well as Secretary and he will remain as a regional representative. In addition, Mr. Laustsen noted, Treasurer Vince Bardsley, KB3OM, had also resigned.

Robert Freer, W3YLT, had been appointed to the position of Treasurer and the books and records had been transferred to Mr. Freer. Mr. Pressler reported that he had obtained the consent of William Gorodetzer, K3MFI, to accept appointment to the position vacated by Mr. Purdy.

There being a quorum, both candidates were duly elected by unanimous vote of the officers and directors present.

Mr. Laustsen ordered the ballots received in the election to be counted and, following that count, the following officers were declared re-elected or elected:

President: David S. Laustsen, W3LAW

Vice President – Administration, Kevin Woolard, KW3P

Vice President- Coordination, William Ferguson, WA3BXW

Secretary – William Gorodetzer, K3MFI

Treasurer – Robert Freer, W3YLT

Following the election, a motion was made and approved to adopt resolutions extending the appreciation of the ARCC Board to former Treasurer H. Vincent Bardsley, KB3OM, and to former Secretary Roger Purdy for their services to the organization. The motion was adopted unanimously.

Treasurer Mr. Freer reported that the books had only recently been transferred to his keeping and that there had not been enough time to prepare an exact treasurer’s report but funds on hand currently were somewhere in excess of $5,000. The organization, he said, is solvent.

Mr. Freer also reported that a local bank account had been opened and the funds transferred. Following some discussion, Mr. Pressler was authorized to act as a second signer on the account.

Mr. Laustsen reported that a gift of flowers had been sent to Database Manager Jeff DePolo and his wife on the occasion of their recent marriage. He also noted that the processing of paperwork had slowed recently because of that and the press of other business.

Respectfully submitted,

Gene Pressler, W3ZXV
