A Message from the ARCC Webmaster about 2005

To all ARCC members and Web page users:

There was considerable concern raised during the second half of 2005 as to "Where was the ARCC?".   A significant cause for this concern was the lack up updates to the Web page during the year, in particular the database and recent actions listings.

The ARCC is alive and well and 2005 was a busy year with 66 coordination requests processed and 51 approved.

It was recently discovered that the lack of Web page updates, implying no activity, was basically a technical glitch.   It seems that sometime during the year, e-mail connectivity between the Database Manager and the Webmaster failed, and unfortunately, somehow this loss was not realized until recently.   Apparently through the year, e-mail Web page updates were being sent to me but none were ever received.

Even I was beginning to wonder what was going on, and why my e-mails to the Database Manager were going unanswered.   I know Jeff is a busy guy, so I just assumed that no news was just that.   No news.   To make matters worse, Jeff was not getting any indication that his outgoing e-mails to me were not getting through.

Now that we realize what happened, steps are being taken to fix the problem.   I apologize for any confusion that this may have caused anyone and for not catching the problem sooner.

We have several new features for the Web page planned for 2006 .. so stay tuned.
