ARCC is in the process of producing a modified 33cm bandplan. One of the
driving forces for modifying the 33cm bandplan is to attempt to incorporate
additional FM repeater pairs with a 25 MHz offset. The desire to have 25
MHz split repeater pairs on this band is primarily due to the ease in which
surplus 900 MHz commercial radio equipment can be modified to work with this
split, as the frequencies used are in closer proximity to the design range
of the equipment as compared to the FM repeater subbands in the current
bandplan. As such, in an effort to promote additional activity on this
under-utilized band, ARCC hopes to be able to deliver a bandplan that
fosters additional activity by way of new FM repeaters while still
maintaining protection of existing operations including those that do not
fall under the realm of repeater or auxiliary link coordination. Upon
completion of work on this bandplan proposal, it will be circulated to
adjacent coordination councils for their comment, and likewise published on
the ARCC web site for comments from ARCC members and the amateur public at
large.
Until such a time that the bandplan is ratified, any repeater coordination applications received by ARCC for 25 MHz split repeater pairs (transmitting in the 927 MHz range, receiving in the 902 MHz range) will be accepted and put on hold. Upon ratification, those that comply with the bandplan will be processed in the order received. |
